VALVE CLEARANCE ADJUSTMENT

8.Remove:
• Camshaft sprocket covers G)
9.Remove:
• Timing plug

• Straight plug

10.Measure:
• Valve clearance
Out of specification -+ Adjust.
Valve clearance (cold):
Intake valve:
0..07 - 0.12mm (0.003 - 0.005 in)
Exhaust valve:
0.12 -0.17 mm (0.005 - 0.007 in)
Measuring steps:
• Turn the crankshaft clockwise with a
wrench.
• Align the camshaft sprocket mark
®
with
the stationary pointer (6) on the cylinder
head. When the mark is aligned with the
pointer, the piston is at Top Dead Center
(TDC).

• Check the front/rear cylinder timing mark

on the rotor. If necessary, turn the
crankshaft to align the timing mark with
the pointer @ on the AC magneto cover.

For rear cylinder ("TI" mark)
