Load the envelopes in the portrait
orientation with the flap facing up and with
the envelope inserted fully as shown in the
diagram.

Adjust the paper guides on each side so
that they rest lightly against the loaded
envelopes.

On the print driver, register the envelope size as a custom paper size. For details,
refer to "Registering Custom Size Paper" (P. 49).
Printing on Envelopes
To print on envelopes, display the printing preferences dialog box for the printer. The
procedure below uses WordPad on Windows XP as an example to explain the procedure.
Note
• The way to display the printing preferences dialog box for the printer differs according to your
application. Refer to the instructions for your application.
• Before printing, register the size of the envelope to be loaded as a custom paper size.

From the [File] menu, select [Print].
2.
Select the printer as the printer to be used, then click [Preferences].
3.
Select the [Tray/Output] tab, then select [Bypass Tray] from [Paper Source].
