Piston ring installation

1. Install:
Oil ring 1

2nd piston ring 2
9
Top piston ring 3
9
NOTE:
9 Install the oil ring, by first fitting the
expander ring and then installing the side
rail ring.
9 Make sure that the "2N" mark is on the
2nd upper ring to install the piston.
When reusing the top ring, be sure to

mark and install in the original upward
position.
9 After installing the piston rings, check
that they move smoothly.
2. Offset the piston ring and oil ring end
gaps as shown.
Oil ring end gap 1 (lower rail)

Oil ring end gap 2 (expander ring)

Oil ring end gap 3 (upper rail)

Piston installation

1. Install:
9 Piston
Piston slider:

9 Make sure that the end gap of each ring
is positioned correctly, then install the
piston.
9 Install the piston with the "UP" mark on
the piston crown facing toward the fly-
wheel rotor side.
