9 Side clearance
Out of specification ® Replace the
piston and piston rings as a set.
Side clearance:
Top ring a a :
0.04 ~ 0.08 mm
(0.002 ~ 0.003 in)
2nd ring b b :
0.02 ~ 0.06 mm
(0.001 ~ 0.002 in)

Crankshaft inspection

1. Measure:
9 Crankshaft runout
Out of specification ® Replace the
crankshaft.
Crankshaft runout limit:
0.03 mm (0.0012 in)

Camshaft inspection

1. Inspect:
9 Camshaft
9 Decompressor
9 Camshaft gear teeth
Wear/Damage/Crack ® Replace.
9 Weight and pin
Unsmooth operation ® Replace.
