PROPERLY INFLATED
BIAS
OR BIAS-BEL TED TIRE
7.
Be sure to reinstall the tire inflation valve caps, if so equipped,
to prevent dirt and moisture from getting into the valve core which
could cause air leakage.
8 .
If an air Joss occurs while driving, do not drive on the deflated
tire more than is needed to stop safely. Driving even a short
distance on a deflated tire can damage a tire and wheel beyond
repair.
Inspection and Rotation
Front and rear tires perform different jobs and can wear differently
depending on the types of roads driven, your driving habits, etc. To
obtain maximum tire life, you should inspect and rotate your tires
(See Section A of the Maintenance Schedule
regularly.
folder for recommended rotation intervals.)
equipped with tires having different load ratings between the front and
the rear, the tires should not be rotated front to rear. Vehicle handling
could be adversely affected and the tires having the lower load rating
could be overloaded. (See "Important Information on Vehicle
Loading" at the beginning this manual.)
For the longest tire life, any time uneven wear is seen, have the tires
checked and rotated by your truck or tire dealer and have the cause
of the uneven wear corrected. After rotation, adjust the front and rear
tire pressures (See Certification Label or, if applicable, the "Tire
Inflation" charts), and be sure to check wheel nut tightness.
