CAUTION:
Either
used to help avoid excessive wheal spin speeds when there is no
traction at any one wheal or if there is a failed component in the
drivalina. Personal i njury and severe damage may result from excessive
wheal spinning, including tire disintegration•
Power Take-Off
NOTICE:
If the power taka-off is to
remaining stationary, the lubricant in the transfer case should be
thoroughly warmed up and circulated by driving the truck before using
the power taka-off. After this procedure has bean followed, the power
taka-off may be operated for a period no longer than four hours without
rerunning the truck.
1.
Place transfer case control lever in Neutral.
2.
Move Power Take-off lever to "Engaged" position.
3.
If vehicle is to move, shift the transfer case into desired range.
If the truck is to remain stationary, leave the transfer case
in Neutral.
4.
Shift transmission into 1 st or 2nd gear.
5.
Accelerate engine as required.
Power Winches
On vehicles equipped with accessory winches they are to be operated
as stationary or anchored vehicles.
NOTICE:
Do not engage park position on automatic transmission or
leave
manual
transmission. Sat the Parking Brake, usa vehicle brakes and/or place
chocks against the wheals.

POWER STEERING

If the power steering system goes out bc;cause the engine has stalled
or .due to a failure, the vehicle can still be steered. However, much
greater effort is needed, especially in sharp turns or at low speeds.

TILT STEERING WHEEL

The optional tilt steering wheel can be tilted up above normal position
to provide additional room for entrance and exit as well as selected
driving positions below normal height. The tilt mechanism is located
on the· left side of the steering column just behind the directional signal.
To operate pull the lever towards you and move the steering wheel to
your desired . position then release the lever. This permits individual
selection of the most comfortable positions for all driving conditions.
On longer trips the steering wheel position may be changed to help
minimize tension and fatigue.

CRUISE CONTROL

The optional Cruise Control System provides automatic speed control
for your comfort when driving on freeways, turnpikes, or other
non-congested highways. The system is designed to function above
speeds of approximately 30 mph (50 km!h).
