Radiator Pressure Cap
The radiator cap, a 1 5 psi ( 105 kPa) pressure type, must be installed
tightly, otherwise coolant may
from overheating. Radiator pressure caps should be checked
periodically for proper operation. If replacement is required, an
AC-Delco cap is recommended.
Thermostat
The engine coolant temperature is controlled by a thermostat. It stops
coolant flow through the radiator until a preset temperature is reached.
This thermostat is installed in the engine coolant outlet on the engine
block. The same thermostat is used in both winter and summer. When
a replacement is needed, AC-Delco parts are recommended.
Rear Axle-Sta ndard
See Section A of the Maintenance Schedule folder to find out how often
the lubricant level should be checked. Add lubricant, if needed, to fill
to level of filler plug hole. Use SAE SOW or SAE SOW-90 GL-5 gear
lubricant. (For those vehicles driven in Canada, use SAE SOW GL-5
gear lubricant.) You can also us� GM 105227 1 or 1052272 gear
lubricant, available at your dealer.
Rea r Axle-Limited-Slip Differentia l
See Section A of the Maintenance Schedule folder to find out when
the lubricant should be drained and refilled.
Refill to level of filler plug hole with SAE SOW or SAE SOW-90 GL-5
gear lubricant. You can also use GM 1052271 or 1052272 gear
lubricant, available at your dealer .

Power Steering System

Check the fluid level in the pump reservoir* at each oil change period.
Add GM Power Steering fluid GM No. 1050017 or equivalent) as
necessary to bring level into proper range on filler cap indicator
depending upon fluid temperature.
