Cigarette Lighter

The optional cigarette lighter is located in the ash tray. To operate,
push it in. When it becomes heated, it automatically pops out ready
for use.

Air Vents

Conventional model air vents, located in the kick panel on each side
g
of the passen
er compartment, are opened with a handle attached
directly to the vent.
NOTICE:
See "Engine Exhaust Gas Caution (Carbon Monoxide)" at the
beginning of this section.
H EATER
The windshield defrosting and defogging system assists in providing
good visibility through designated areas of the windshield under most
inclement weather conditions. For immediate operation of the vehicle,
the windshield should be scraped clear.
LO
Upper Lever
When this lever is in the OFF position, air is directed up under the
instrument panel through a venting door. Moving the lever to
HEATER position closes the vent door and opens the air door allowing
full air flow at the heater outlets. Move the lever to DEF position when
windshield defrost is needed. Full right position diverts most air flow
to the defroster outlets.
Lower Lever
Push the lower lever (temperature) as required to give the desired
degree of heat. Full right position provides maximum heat.
Fan
The fan lever has three positions from LO at the bottom to HI at the
top.
Fan will automatically operate whenever ignition switch is in the ON
position. There is no OFF position.
Heater Operating Tips
Keep all windows and vents closed to reduce dust, road and wind
noise and uncomfortable drafts.
For most satisfactory heater operation and air circulation, operate
fan on low or medium speeds for normal operation and high
speeds for quick warm-up and during extremely low temperatures.
