ENGINE COOLANT
Your cooling system may temporarily overheat during severe operating
conditions such as:
•
climbing a long hill on a hot day,
•
stopping after high speed driving,
•
idling for long periods in traffic, or
•
towing a trailer.
If the hot light comes on (or the coolant temperature gage needle goes
ir.to the warning zone) and your air conditioner is on, turn it off. If
the hot light (or gage) comes on while stopped in traffic, place the
transmission shift lever in Neutral ("N").
If the hot light doesn't go off (or the temperature gage needle doesn't
start to drop) within a minute or two:
•
Pull over to a safe place and stop the vehicle. Set the parking brake
and shift to "Park" (with manual transmission, shift to Neutral
and set the parking brake).
