5.8 Oil Filtration / Cooling

5.8.1 Engine oil filter – Replacement
Preconditions
☑ Engine is stopped and starting disabled.

Designation / Use
Filter wrench
Engine oil
Oil filter
WARNING
Hot oil.
Oil can contain combustion residues which are harmful to health.
Risk of injury and poisoning!
• Wear protective clothing, gloves, and goggles / safety mask.
• Avoid contact with skin.
• Do not inhale oil vapor.
Engine oil filter – Replacement
1. Remove oil filter using the oil filter wrench.
2. Clean the sealing surface of the filter head.
3. Check condition of the new sealing ring and
coat it with oil.
4. Screw on and tighten new oil filter by hand.
5. Replace further oil filters in the same way.
6. Check oil level (→ Page 70).
