DANGER
Unguarded rotating and moving engine components.
Risk of serious injury – danger to life!
• Take special care when working on a running engine.
WARNING
Hot oil.
Oil can contain combustion residues which are harmful to health.
Risk of injury and poisoning!
• Wear protective clothing, gloves, and goggles / safety mask.
• Avoid contact with skin.
• Do not inhale oil vapor.
WARNING
Engine noise above 85 dB (A).
Risk of damage to hearing!
• Wear ear protectors.
Engine oil – Sample extraction and
analysis
1.
With engine running and at operating tem‐
perature, connect sampling hose (scope of
delivery of the genset manufacturer) to ex‐
traction neck (arrow).
2.
Drain approx. 0.5 liter engine oil into a
clean container.
3.
Using the equipment and chemicals of the
MTU test kit, examine engine oil for:
• Dispersion capability (spot test);
• Water content.
