5.4.3 Valve depth – Measurement
Preconditions
☑ Engine is stopped and starting disabled.

Depth gauge
Preparatory steps
1. Remove spark plugs (→ Page 54).
2. Remove cylinder head covers (→ Page 66).
3. Remove sleeves (arrow).
4. Install barring device (→ Page 48).
5. Rotate crankshaft with barring device in en‐
gine direction of rotation until marking "OT"
and pointer are aligned.
