DTMF Overdial / Conventional Mode Telephone
Interconnect
Once the radio has established a connection to the
public telephone system, it may be necessary to "over-
dial" more digits to access banking services, answering
machines, credit card calls or other types of systems that
require DTMF (Dual-Tone Multi-Frequency) access dig-
its.
Overdial operation can also be used to initiate a
telephone interconnect call via DTMF signalling if a dial
tone has already been accessed on the system. This is
the method that is used for making a telephone intercon-
nect call while operating in the conventional mode but
will also function in trunked mode if a dial tone is directly
accessible.
Telephone numbers and other number sequences for
M
overdialing can be stored in the phone list when program-
ming the radio. These numbers are accessed by press-
, then following the selection mode rules.
