PRECAUTIONS

RWARNING! NEVER
AC outlet. Ths may pose a fire hazard or result n an electrc
shock.
CAUTION:
Changes or modfcatons to ths devce, not
expressly approved by Icom Inc., could vod your authorty to
operate ths devce under FCC regulatons.
NEVER
connect the transcever to a power source of more
than 16 V DC or use reverse polarty. Ths wll run the trans-
cever.
NEVER
cut the DC power cable between the DC plug at
the back of the transcever and fuse holder. If an ncorrect
connecton s made after cuttng, the transcever may be
damaged.
NEVER
place the transcever where normal operaton of the
vessel may be hndered or where t could cause bodly njury.
KEEP
the transcever at least 3.3 ft (1 m) away from the
shp's navgaton compass.
DO NOT
use or place the transcever n areas wth tem-
peratures below –4°F (–20°C) or above +140°F (+60°C) or,
n areas subject to drect sunlght, such as the dashboard.

Place the transcever n a secure place to avod nadvertent
use by chldren.

terproof constructon, whch corresponds to IPX8 of the
nternatonal standard IEC 60529 (2001). However, once the
transcever or mcrophone has been dropped, waterproofing
cannot be guaranteed due to the fact that the case may be
cracked, or the waterproof seal damaged, etc.
Icom optonal equpment s desgned for optmal perform-
ance when used wth ths transcever. We are not respon-
sble for the transcever beng damaged or any accdent
caused when usng non-Icom optonal equpment.
