A dstress call should be transmtted, f n the opnon of the
Master, the shp or a person s n dstress and requres m-
medate assstance.
NEVER USE THE DISTRESS CALL WHEN YOUR
SHIP OR A PERSON IS NOT IN AN EMERGENCY.
A DISTRESS CALL CAN BE USED ONLY WHEN
IMMEDIATE HELP IS NEEDED.

q Confirm no dstress call s beng receved.
w Whle lftng up the key cover, push [DISTRESS] for
5 sec. to transmt the dstress call.
• Emergency channel (Channel 70) s automatcally selected and
the dstress call s transmtted.
• When no GPS s connected, nput your poston and UTC tme,
f possble.
• Whle pushng [DISTRESS], the key backlghtng blnks.

Push for 5 sec.
e After transmttng the dstress call, the transcever wats
for an acknowledgment call on Channel 70.
• The dstress call s automatcally transmtted every 3.5 to 4.5
mnutes.
• After 2 sec., the transcever s set to Channel 16 automatcally.
