STOPPING

WARNING
If possible, avoid stopping abruptly or
s l o w i n g d o w n s u d d e n l y . B r a k e
progressively and in good time.
Release the throttle twistgrip (1) (pos.
A), apply the brakes gradually and shift
down to reduce speed, see page 55
(MOVING OFF - RIDING).
When you have slowed down, before
stopping the vehicle:
Pull the clutch lever (2) to avoid stalling
the engine.
When the vehicle is at standstill:
Place the gear lever in neutral (green
warning light " " on).
Release the clutch lever (2).
When stopping for a short time, keep at
least one brake on.

PARKING

Select a suitable parking area, observing
the road signs and the indications given
below.
WARNING
Park the vehicle on firm and level ground
to prevent it falling over.
Do not lean the vehicle against walls and
do not lay it down on the ground.
Make sure that the vehicle, and in
particular hot vehicle components, may
not put the safety of persons and children
at risk. Do not leave the vehicle
unattended with the engine running or
with the key inserted into the ignition
switch.
Stay away from the cooling fans even
when they are not operating. They might
switch on unexpectedly and your clothing
or hair might be caught in the fans.
WARNING
Leaning the vehicle exceedingly or
letting it fall over may lead to fuel
leakage.
The fuel used to operate internal
c o m b u s t i o n e n g i n e s i s h i g h l y
flammable and becomes explosive
under particular conditions.
CAUTION
Do not place your full weight or that of
the passenger on the side stand.
To park the vehicle:
Choose a suitable parking area.
Stop
the
vehicle,
(STOPPING).
Set the engine kill switch (3) to position

Turn the key (4) to set the ignition switch
(5) to position " ".
WARNING
When getting on or off the vehicle,
follow the instructions provided at page
4 9 ( G E T T I N G O N A N D O F F T H E
VEHICLE).
Following the indications, wait until the
passenger has dismounted before getting
off the vehicle.
Lock the steering, see page 29 (STEERING
LOCK) and extract the key (4).
