The passenger must move carefully when
getting on and off the vehicle, to avoid
upsetting the balance of vehicle and rider.
NOTE
It is the rider's responsibility to
instruct the passenger on how to safely get
on and off the vehicle.
The vehicle is equipped with special
passenger footrests to make it easier to get
on and off the vehicle. The passenger must
always use the left footrest to get on and
off the vehicle.
Never get off or try to get off the vehicle by
jumping or stretching your leg and putting
your foot on the ground. This would
compromise the stability and balance of
the vehicle.
NOTE
Any bags or objects strapped to
the rear of the vehicle can impair your
movements while getting on and off.

When mounting or dismounting, swing
your right leg over the vehi cl e in a
controlled movement. Do not hit the rear
end (tail or luggage) or you will upset
vehicle balance.
GETTING ON THE VEHICLE
Grasp the handlebar correctly and get on
the vehicle without loading your weight
onto the side stand.
NOTE
If you cannot touch both feet on
the ground, set the right foot firmly on the
ground (if you should lose your balance,
the side stand on the left side of the vehicle
will keep you from falling over on that side)
and keep ready to place your left foot on
the ground.
Push the vehicle upright and place both
feet on the ground. Keep the vehicle
balanced.
NOTE
Do not fold out the passenger
footrest or attempt to do so while sitting
astride the vehicle, or you might lose
balance.
Instruct the passenger to fold out both
passenger footrests.
Explain to the passenger how to safely
get on the vehicle.
Pull up the side stand using your left foot.
Make sure it is fully up.
GETTING OFF THE VEHICLE
Choose the parking area, see page 59
(PARKING).
Stop the vehicle, see page 59 (STOPPING).
WARNING
Make sure that the parking surface is
free from obstacles. Park on firm and
level ground.
Push down on the side stand lever with
the left heel until the side stand is fully
down.
NOTE
If you cannot touch both feet on
the ground, set the right foot firmly on the
ground (if you should lose your balance,
the side stand on the left side of the vehicle
will keep you from falling over on that side)
and keep ready to place your left foot on
the ground.
Place both feet on the ground and keep
the vehicle upright and balanced.
Explain to the passenger how to safely
get off the vehicle.
CAUTION
Risk of falling and overturning.
Make sure that the passenger has
dismounted.
Do not place your weight on the side
stand.
Lean the vehicle until the stand touches
the ground.
Grasp the handlebar correctly and get off
the vehicle.
Rotate the handlebar fully to the left.
Fold the passenger footrests.
CAUTION
Make sure that the vehicle is stable.
