Do not place any objects on the inside
o f t h e f r o n t f a i r i n g ( b e t w e e n t h e
handlebar and the dashboard), or they
might hinder handlebar rotation and
hide the dashboard from view.
NOTE
Before moving off, carefully read
section "Safe Riding", see page 5 (SAFE
RIDING).
CAUTION
If the low fuel light " " (1) on the
dashboard comes on while the vehicle is
running, it means that you still have 4.5 ±1l
of fuel in the tank. Refuel as soon as
possible, see page 34 (FUEL).
If you are riding solo, make sure that the
passenger footrests are folded. While

driving, keep your hands on the grips
and your feet on the footrests.

If you are carrying a passenger, instruct
him/her on the basic safety rules of
pillion riding.
Ensure that the stand is fully up before
moving off.

Moving off:

Start
the
engine.

(STARTING).

Adjust the rear-view mirrors.
CAUTION
W i t h t h e v e h i c l e s t o p p e d , t r y t o
familiarise with the use of the mirrors.
Convex mirrors provide a larger view,
but any objects seen in these mirrors
seem farther than they really are. It may
take some time to learn to judge the
distance of traffic behind accurately.

With the throttle twistgrip (2) released
(Pos. A), let engine idle and pull the
clutch lever (3) fully in.
◆
Engage the first gear, by pushing the
gear lever (4) downwards.
◆
Release the brake lever (you should
have pulled it when starting the engine).
