CS DATA PROGRAMMING

Each CS is provided with Calling Area, Group and Group CS number, given a maximum capacity to have
32 calling areas while each area has 8 groups. One group can house 32 group CSs.
Calling Area : Calling Area consists of plural Radio Zones and the calling signal is sent to the CS that
belongs to the same calling area. When a dedicated PS is called, the system is designed
to search first for a PS in its registered area and if the PS has moved out of cell, the PS
Location is automatically registered in no time just when the dedicated PS has moved
to another place.
Group
: Dividing into groups is not used for the moment; however, the data setting is required
to assign CS-ID. (See the following figure.)
CS can be categorized in terms of their function into Control CS and Operating CS, while the Control CSs
have its system ID programmed. The system ID is allocated uniquely to the Control CS in an attempt to
control the whole PHS system. The system ID travels over the radio to all other CSs through the WCS.
