cast routers. A BSR should be selected. The BSR sends booting
messages to advertise RP information. According to the latest ad-
vertising messages, the router running the PIM-SM updates the
RP state. The bootstrap message send by the BSR is also used to
select the formal BSR in the Candidate-BSR.
The default priority of Candidate-BSR is 0. Candidate-BSR with
higher priority becomes formal BSR. If the priorities of multiple
candidate BSRs are the same, the one with the biggest IPv6 ad-
dress becomes the BSR.
To configure Candidate-BSR, use the following command.

Configuring Candidate-RP

In the PIM-SM, the RP is a root of the multicast RPT. It is respon-
sible for sending the multicast packet to the receiving member of
the group in the downstream along the tree. Each multicast group
has only one formal RP.
To configure Candidate-RP, use the following command.
The default priority of the Candidate-RP is 0. The candidate-RP
with greater priority value has smaller priority.
Configuring Area Border with the
Interface PIM
ipv6 pim bsr-border
Bootstrap data packets cannot pass the border in any direction.
The command effectively divides a network into different BSR ar-
eas. Other PIM packets can pass the area border.
