Chapter 2 Cisco IOS Commands

service-policy

Use the service-policy interface configuration command to apply a policy map defined by the
policy-map command to the input of a particular interface. Use the no form of this command to remove
the policy map and interface association.
This command is available only if your switch is running the enhanced software image (EI).
Syntax Description
policy-map-name
Defaults
No policy maps are attached to the interface.

Usage Guidelines
Only one policy map per ingress interface is supported.
Service policy maps cannot be defined on egress interfaces.

Examples
This example shows how to apply plcmap1 to an ingress interface:
Switch(config)# interface gigabitethernet0/1
Switch(config-if)# service-policy input plcmap1
You can verify your settings by entering the show policy-map privileged EXEC command.
