Chapter 2 Cisco IOS Commands

snmp-server enable traps

Use the snmp-server enable traps global configuration command to enable the switch to send Simple
Network Management Protocol (SNMP) notification for various trap types to the network management
system (NMS). Use the no form of this command to return to the default setting.
Note
Though visible in the command-line help strings, the snmp-server enable informs command is not
supported. To enable sending SNMP inform notifications, use the snmp-server enable traps command
combined with the snmp-server host host-addr informs command.
