BASIC OPERATION

■ Channel selection
IMPORTANT: Pror to usng the transcever for the frst
tme, the battery pack must be fully charged for optmum
lfe and operaton. To avod damage to the transcever,
turn the power OFF whle chargng.
D Channel 16
Channel 16 s the dstress and safety channel. It used for
establshng ntal contact wth a staton and for emergency
communcatons. Channel 16 s montored durng both Du-
alwatch and Tr-watch. Whle n the standby condton, you
must montor Channel 16.
q Push [16 C] momentarly to select Channel 16.
w Push [CH] to return to the channel used before Channel
16, or push [Y]/[Z] to select a channel.

Whle pushng and holdng [FAV TAG], push [Y]/[Z] to select
the favourte (TAG) channels wth gnorng untagged chan-
nels n the selected channel group n sequence.
• Pushng [FAV TAG] only advances the dsplayed TAG channel.
• The favourte channels are selected usng the TAG channel settng.

D Call channel
Each regular channel group has separate lesure-use call
channels. The call channel s montored durng Tr-watch.
The call channels can be programmed (p. 11) and are used
to store your most often used channel n each channel group
for quck recall.
q Push and hold [16 C] for 1 sec. to select the call channel
of the selected channel group.
• "CALL" and call channel number appear.
• Each channel group may have an ndependent call channel
after programmng a call channel. (p. 11)
w Push [CH] to return to the channel used before call chan-
nel, or push [Y]/[Z] to select a channel.
Push and hold
for 1 sec.
