IN CASE OF EMERGENCY

If your vessel requres assstance, contact other vessels and

the Coast Guard by sendng a dstress call on Channel 16.

DISTRESS CALL PROCEDURE

1. "MAYDAY MAYDAY MAYDAY."

2. "THIS IS

.................. " (name of vessel)

3. Your call sgn or other ndcaton of the ves-

sel.

4. "LOCATED AT ............... " (your poston)

5. The nature of the dstress and assstance

requred.

6. Any other nformaton whch mght facltate

the rescue.

CLEAN THE TRANSCEIVER THOROUGHLY WITH FRESH

WATER after exposure to saltwater, and dry t before opera-

ton. Otherwse, the transcever's keys, swtches and control-

lers may become unusable due to salt crystallzaton.

NOTE: DO NOT wash the transcever n water f there s any

reason to suspect the waterproof protecton may not be ef-

fectve. For example, n cases where the battery pack rubber

seal s damaged, the transcever/battery pack s cracked or

broken, or has been dropped, or when the battery pack s

detached from the transcever.
