BASIC OPERATION

■ Receiving and transmitting

CAUTION: Transmttng wthout an antenna may damage
the transcever.
q Push and hold [
w Set the volume and squelch levels.
You can enter each adjust mode wth [VOL/SQL MONI].
➥ Enter the squelch adjustment mode, and push [Z] sev-
eral tmes to open the squelch.
➥ Enter the volume adjustment mode, then push [Y]/[Z]
to adjust the volume level.
➥ Enter the squelch adjustment mode agan, and push
[Y] untl the nose dsappears.
e Push [Y]/[Z] to select the desred channel.
• When recevng a sgnal, "

IMPORTANT: To maxmze the readablty of your trans-
mtted sgnal, pause a few sec. after pushng [PTT], hold
the mcrophone 5 to 10 cm from your mouth and speak
nto the mcrophone at a normal voce level.
NOTE: The transcever has a power save functon to con-
serve the battery power. The power save functon act-
vates automatcally when no sgnal s receved for 5 sec.
