Turn the transceiver power OFF
when connecting the HM-165.
NEVER mmerse the connector n water. If the connector
gets wet, be sure to dry t BEFORE attachng t to the trans-
cever.
NOTE: The mcrophone s located at the top of the
speaker-mcrophone, as shown above. To maxmze the
readablty of your transmtted sgnal (voce), hold the m-
crophone approx. 5 to 10 cm from your mouth, and speak
n a normal voce level.
NOTE: When the speaker-mcrophone s connected to
the transcever, the nose cancellaton does not work.

OPTIONAL SPEAKER-MICROPHONE

■ Attachment

Turn power OFF before attachng the speaker-mcrophone.
Then, nsert the speaker-mc connector nto the [SP MIC]
connector and carefully screw t tght, as shown below. Be
careful not to cross-thread the connecton.
IMPORTANT: KEEP the transcever's [SP MIC] cap at-
tached when the speaker-mcrophone s not n use. If the
cover s not attached, water wll get nto the transcever.
Moreover, the termnals (pns) wll become rusty, or the
transcever wll functon abnormally f the connector gets wet.
CAUTION: Attach the speaker-microphone's
connector securely to prevent accidental
loss, or water intrusion in the connector.
Detaching:
Rotate the [SP MIC] cap counter-
clockwise (q), then detach it (w).
Attaching:
Attach the [SP MIC] cap (q), then
rotate it clockwise completely (w).
