If this happens ...
You have lost your password and
cannot connect to the HTRD400
Recorder.
You cannot see a recorder in the
recorders list
OR
The connected PC or laptop does
not recognize the HTRD400
Recorder.
The Record LED is flashing and
video is not recording.
The Temperature LED is flashing.
The Fault LED is on.

This appendix provides possible solutions for resolving system malfunctions that may
occur from time to time. It also describes common error and warning messages
generated by the Toolbox and Player applications.

Check:
That the HTRD400 Recorder is powered up
The physical connections between your PC and the HTRD400 Recorder
unit
Ensure that a CAT5 Ethernet crossover cable is used to connect your
PC and the HTRD400 Recorder.
Your IP address. Ask your IP network administrator for assistance.

Check if:
The hard drive is full. To clear the hard drive, see
Settings, page 75.
The HTRD400 Recorder has been set to Stop mode. Reset recording
mode to Recycle (see
archive video files to your PC (see
104), and then erase the hard drive (see
Settings, page 46).
The temperature is outside the operating temperature range. Normal
operation resumes as soon as the operating temperature range is reached.
The HTRD400 Recorder has detected a problem. Reset the unit by
disconnecting the power and reconnecting. If the problem persists, contact
Honeywell Technical Support.
