Note
The recorder will stay awake for about one minute waiting for a live PC
connection. After this time, if no live connection is made and no wake-up
triggers are active, the recorder will return to Sleep mode.

Turn on and/or log in to the PC. If Windows takes longer than one minute to load, you
may need to press the Power button on the HTRD400 Recorder again.

Start the Toolbox or Player application by double-clicking the appropriate icon on the
Windows desktop.

First connection:
The recorder displays in the Available Recorders area of the Toolbox Main Menu
or the Recorders tab of the Explorer Pane on the Player quad screen with the
factory default name and serial number. Highlight the recorder name and then
click Connect (or double-click the recorder name) to establish a communication
link.
The HTRD400 Recorder initializes with the default factory-programmed
configuration.
Second and subsequent connection:
When the recorder displays in the Available Recorders area, click Connect to
establish a communication link.
Note
Windows XP may take up to 75 seconds before the recorder name displays in
the Available Recorders list.
8.
If password protection has been previously enabled, you are prompted to log in (see
Configuring Recorder Global

After a successful login, the recorder name displays in the Available Recorders area of
the Toolbox Main Menu or the Recorders tab of the Explorer Pane on the Player quad
screen.
The Toolbox Configuration tab shows the current configuration of the connected
recorder.
10. When you have finished using the Toolbox or Player application, click Disconnect to
end the session with the recorder.
