Recording
Four camera inputs provide continuous unattended recording to a hard drive on the
HTRD400 Recorder.
Advanced digital recording technology ensures sharp, detailed images and clear
audio in a digitized format.
HTRD400 Recorder features patent pending vibration system that reduces road
vibration to the hard drive and prevents video loss due to vibration.
Global Positioning System (GPS)
HTRD4GPS Module provides vehicle position, geographic direction, and speed data via a
serial interface to the HTRD400 Recorder. The recorder decodes the data from the
HTRD4GPS Module, then—depending on how the recorder is configured—displays and
records the vehicle position, bearing, and speed along with the video and audio
information.
Operating mode—Computer port
With V1.1 and later HTRD400 systems, the HTRD400 Recorder continues to record when
you connect a laptop to the COMPUTER port and stops recording if a connection is made
with either the Toolbox or Player applications.
Software compatibility
V2.0/V1.2 Toolbox and Player applications function with all released versions of HTRD400
Recorders and HTCD Digital Cameras. However, we recommend that you upgrade all
system components to V2.0.
Existing V1.0 Toolbox and Player applications will not function with V1.1 or V2.0/V1.2
HTRD400 Recorder or HTCD Digital Cameras. Similarly, V1.1 Toolbox and Player
applications will not function with V1.2 hardware.
Note
V2.0 is completely interoperable with V1.2.
Operating systems
V1.1.1 and later Toolbox and Player applications support Microsoft® Windows® 2000
(Service Pack 4), in addition to XP Professional and XP Home Edition (Service Pack 2).
