5.4 Firmware update

This section indicates the update procedures on the firmware in the memory card drive.

5.4.1 Firmware update method

1. Enter the firmware data in the memory card.
Prepare the memory card in the FAT format.
Enter the firmware data to the top layer of memory.
2. Turn the power of printer OFF.
3. Insert the memory card to the printer, which has the firmware data.
4. Turn the power of printer ON while pressing [¨]+[Ø]+[Æ] on the monochrome
screen.
5. When writing data starts, the LED indication appears as follows. Release the
button.
Processing LED: Lights up.
6. Processing LED shifts as follows.
Lights up Æ Goes off Æ Blinks
7. When the processing LED blinks, it means writing is complete. Turn the power of
printer OFF.
8. Wait for 10 seconds after turning the power of printer OFF.
When writing of firmware is complete, be sure to check the
firmware version. (Refer to the 5.4.2 "Firmware version check
method")
