2.
With an input signal selected, either a SDI or an analog signal, the scan converted output
signals will be genlock to this incoming signal. Loss of incoming signal will revert the
genlock source to the internal clock. In this mode, to have 100 % graphics output, set Key
to EXTERNAL with the Magni Premier application software and the slider of the FX-1
in the graphics position (Factory preset default memory location 2)
NOTE: If external key is not needed, or to avoid any input video mixed with the scan-
converted output, turn the key off on the FX-1 or with the Magni Premier application
software. This is true either controlled through the IR controller or Magni Premier
application software.

Keying and Overlay

When an input signal is selected, this input automatically becomes the genlock source, the key signal
source, as well as the video overlay signal. (Factory preset memory locations 5 to10 depending on
the input and application)
Respective timing and genlock relationship between video input to video outputs:
Analog video input:
o Composite (including Y/C) analog input.
The SDI and analog Composite (or Component, if selected) outputs will automatically
genlock to the selected analog Composite input.
o Component analog input.
The SDI and Component analog output signals will sync-lock to the incoming signal. The
Composite analog output, if selected, will sync-lock to the Component input and
maintained at zero SC/H phase.
CPST2 as video input.
The SDI and analog Composite (or Component, if selected) outputs will automatically
genlock to the CPST2 Composite input.
NOTE: REF IN mode is not available with either analog video or CPST2 input.
SDI input:
o SDI (Input Video) as the genlock source
The SDI and Component outputs will sync-lock to the incoming SDI signal.
Composite analog output, if selected, will sync-lock to SDI input and maintained at
zero SC/H phase.
o SDI (Input Video) and REF IN as the genlock sources.
The SDI and Component outputs will sync-lock to the incoming SDI signal.
Composite analog output, if selected, will be phase-lock and color frame-lock to the
REF IN reference input. The reference input must have a valid analog input signal
and line-locked to the SDI input signal, otherwise the Composite analog output signal
will be distorted.
