Video Input / Output

ANALOG INPUT/ ANALOG and SDI OUTPUTS:
The analog input signal, when selected will be the analog output plus the converted SDI output. The REF IN/
CPST 2 input can be selected as the second Composite input in the analog input mode.
SDI INPUT/ ANALOG and SDI OUTPUTS:
The SDI input signal, when selected will also be the output at both the SDI output and the analog outputs. The
REF IN/ CPST 2 input can be used to maintain color phasing on the analog output signal, as the incoming
SDI input has no framing information. However, the H and V timing for both outputs are derived from the
SDI input.

Input Video Resizing

DIGITAL RESIZING:
The SDI input signal is routed through the video re-sizer before going to the mixer. A slight distortion may
occur due to interpolation when the resizing is enabled. External key function is disabled in this mode.
ANALOG RESIZING:
The analog inputs are routed through the digital processing. The video mix and keying are done digitally and
later converted to analog format at the output. External key function is disabled in this mode.
VIDEO SQUEEZE:
Video and Graphics split screen mode where the resized video starts at a user designated point (the factory
default is the left hand corner) while the Graphics fills the rest of the screen. Three fixed video sizes (25%,
56% and 100% full screen) are programmed in the MCP-601, with other sizes available through the IR
controller, Magni Premier application software and the command code.

Graphics/Video Overlay

ANALOG / DIGITAL OVERLAY:
The analog video is converted to digital data. All overlay and resizing is done in digital domain and provide a
digital SDI and converted analog video out.
DIGITAL / DIGITAL OVERLAY:
The input digital SDI video and embedded audio remains in 10-bit digital format throughout the entire signal
processing. The digital graphics data is mixed or keyed in a digital mixer and routed to the SDI and analog
outputs. The Digital / Digital overlay mode provides the best available keying performance.

Graphics Keying (Internal and External)

PAN AND ZOOM:
The selected portion of the Graphics screen identified by the MagniPort can be positioned and zoomed up to
2X on the video output.
COLOR KEYING:
A key color can be selected and compared to either the graphics or the video incoming signal. Whenever there
is a color match, the mixer switches to output the other signal. This can be done in the MCP-601 internal
mixer or through an external keyer, typically into an analog switcher with an external key input. For a digital
switcher, the digital key signal from the MCP-601 is treated as another digital input signal. The MCP-601
provides both analog and SDI-601 Key signals simultaneously.
