MOVING SELECTOR LEVER FROM "P" POSITION AND RESETTING SAFETY MODE

Moving Selector Lever From "P" Position
1. Turn the ignition key to "ON" position and depress the brake
pedal.
2. For your safety, apply the parking brake.
3. Move the selector lever to other positions while pushing
the shift lock release with a thin object such as ball-point
pen.
WARNING
After emergency releasing the shift lever, have your vehicle repaired
by Ssangyong Dealer or Ssangyong Authorized Service Operation
as soon as possible.

IN CASE OF EMERGENCY
Resetting Safety Mode
• Heavy shock when moving the selector lever
• Fixed gear position during driving* a hard shock during a
shifting
If the symptoms as above are found, reset the transmission
safety mode.
How To Reset The Safety Mode
1. Park the vehicle and place the selector lever to "P" position.
2. Stop the engine and wait for over 10 seconds.
3. Start the engine.
WARNING
If the gear is fixed at 2nd forward gear in "D" position or 2nd re-
verse gear in "R" position, have the system checked by Ssangyong
dealer or Ssangyong Authorized Service Operation
