4-WHEEL DRIVE SWITCH*
Full-Time 4-Wheel Drive Vehicle (TOD)*
The vehicle equipped with the TOD 4-wheel drive evenly distributes the driving force to all wheels according to the road conditions.
4-Wheel Drive Switch*
1. "4L" (4-Wheel Drive, Low)
Push this portion of the switch for maximum traction in
slippery roads, steep hills and rough roads. At this time,
the "4WD LOW" indicator in instrument panel comes on.
2. "4H" (4-Wheel Drive, High)
Push this portion of the switch for normal driving. This
position gives greater economy, quieter ride and less
drive train wear.

Driving Mode Change (4H ↔
1. Manual Transmission Equipped Vehicle
Stop the vehicle on a level ground and place the shift
lever into "Neutral" position. Push the desired portion of
the switch while depressing the brake pedal and clutch
pedal.
2. Automatic Transmission Equipped Vehicle
Stop the vehicle on a level ground and place the gear
selector lever into "N" position. Push the desired por-
tion of the switch while depressing the brake pedal.
NOTE
When shifting from "4L" to "4H" in automatic transmission equipped
vehicle, move the gear selector lever from "N" to "R" position after
pushing the 4WD switch, then move it to "N" position again. This
may help to make easy mode change.
