WAN Failover Backup
The WAN Failover Backup feature of NetComm Smart Hub 4G is designed to provide a backup MBB Internet connection in the
event your primary Ethernet WAN connection should fail.
The NetComm Smart Hub 4G sends a DNS standard query to alive.telus.com to the fixed line connection's Primary Domain Name
Server using the Ethernet WAN interface. This verifies whether the Internet connection is online and functioning correctly. The Fail
Count specifies how many successive DNS standard query attempts can fail before the NetComm Smart Hub 4G fails over to the
MBB WAN connection while the Success Count specifies how many DNS standard query attempts must succeed in order to reset
the Failover counter.
To use this feature, you will need both an Ethernet WAN connection (from an xDSL modem/ISDN/Satellite etc.) and a MBB WAN
connection.
To set up WAN failover on your NetComm Smart Hub 4G, first set the "Automatic MBB Backup" option to "Enable", and complete
the fields that are required for the MBB service you intend to use.
