13.2 Prescan
Approximately 50% of failures reported by the duplicator are caused by er-
rors in the master disc that the Reader couldn't overcome. When this kind of
failure occurs, it tends to waste all of your blank recordable media.
The "Prescan" feature is used to detect flaws in the master disc prior to per-
forming the duplicating process. This feature scans and detects any bad sec-
tors in the master disc. You should perform this test before starting the
duplication task for all master discs. By doing so you can prevent wasting the
blank media if there is an error in the master disc.

Press the
ESC to button to stop the pro-
cess and eject the discs.
Use the
Up or
lect the Prescan menu and press the
Enter button to enter that menu. The
Copy Master II will proceed to the Wait-
ing for Master menu.
