13 Troubleshooting (Macintosh)
INSTALLATION PROBLEMS
I When the printer was connected to the Macintosh, the "Required software was
not found" message or "Required driver cannot be used" message appears.
Check
Is the software installed? Install the software (→P. 82, 83).
PRINTER PROBLEMS
I Pictures cannot be printed from FinePixViewer.
Check
Is the printer driver installed? Install the printer driver (→P. 83).
Are the printer and Macintosh connected by Check if one end of the USB cable is
a USB cable? connected to the printer and the other end
is connected to the Macintosh.
Is the [USB MODE] switch in the Unplug the USB cable from the printer by
[PRINTER] position? the correct disconnection method, switch
the [USB MODE] switch to [PRINTER], and
then reconnect the USB cable to the printer
(→P. 84).
Is the picture to be printed selected? Select CX-400 as the printer (→P. 88).
Is the CX-400 selected in the Chooser?
Is the printer driver enabled? Set "CX400", "CX-400Monitor", "FTLUSB
_Lib", and "FTLUSB_Drv_04CB010C" in
Extensions Manager to Enable and restart
the Macintosh.
I I want to print from an application other than FinePixViewer.
Solution
Select "File" → "Print" from the menu. The dialog box that is displayed here varies
depending on the application. The setting items and printed result are also different. For
more information, refer to the application manual.

MEMORY CARD PROBLEMS

I The printer is connected to the Macintosh, but the "Removable disk" icon
is not displayed.
Check
Is the printer power turned on? Turn the printer power on.
Are the printer and Macintosh connected by Check if one end of the USB cable is
a USB cable? connected to the printer and the other end
is connected to the Macintosh.
Is a compatible OS used? Use the printer with Mac OS 8.6 to 9.2.
Is a memory card loaded into the printer? Load a memory card into the printer.
Is Mass Storage Driver enabled? At the Extension Manager, enable
"USB04CB_StorageShim" and "USB04CB
_StorageDriver" and then restart the
Macintosh.
Is the [USB MODE] switch in the [CARD Unplug the USB cable from the printer by
READER] position? the correct disconnection method, switch
the [USB MODE] switch to [CARD
READER] and then reconnect the USB
cable to the printer (→P. 85, 86).
I FinePixViewer does not recognize the memory card.
