BASIC OPERATION
D International channels
There are pre-programmed 57 nternatonal channels for the
IC-GM651.
q Push [DIAL] to select a regular channel.
w Whle pushng and holdng [H/L], push [DIAL] to change
the channel group, f necessary.
• "INT" appears when Internatonal channel s selected.

e Rotate [SELECTOR] to select a channel.
• "DUP" appears for duplex channels.
• Pushng the keypad or [Y]/[Z] on the mcrophone also selects
a channel.

CAUTION:
Transmttng wthout an antenna wll dam-
age the transcever.
q Push [POWER] to turn power ON.
• After turnng power ON, the 9-dgt MMSI code appears for 2
sec. (If no MMSI code s programmed, "NO MMSI" appears
and the MMSI programmng s requred; p. 18)
• The transcever does not turn power ON when the connected

➥ Rotate [SQL] fully counterclockwse n advance.
➥ Rotate [VOL] to adjust the audo output level.
➥ Rotate [SQL] clockwse untl the nose dsappears.
e Whle pushng and holdng [H/L], push [DIAL] several
tmes to change the channel group. (p. 8)
r Rotate [SELECTOR] to select a channel. (pgs. 7, 8, 121)
• Pushng the keypad or [Y]/[Z] on the mcrophone also selects
a channel.
• When recevng a sgnal, "BUSY" appears and audo s emtted
from the speaker.
• Further adjustment of [VOL] may be necessary.
t Push [H/L] to select the output power f necessary.
• "25W" or "1W" appears when hgh or low power s selected, re-
spectvely.
• Choose low power for short range communcatons, choose
hgh power for longer dstance communcatons.
• Some channels are for low power only.
