Saving Files

After a file has been scanned or created, the user has the option of
saving it. The file can be opened again within Viewer or it can be
used in other applications. There are several methods for saving
files.
This first consideration should be how the document or image will be
used. Documents (multi-page files) can only be saved in one of two
formats: ALA or DCX. Images (single page files) have more
options: ALA, DCX, TIF, BMP, PCX, or JPG. If the file will be
placed in another application, consideration should be made as to
what file formats are supported by that application. TIF is one of the
most widely used formats if it is unknown what a particular applica-
tion supports.
To save your current file as a new file:
From the File menu, choose Save As or;
Drag and drop the active file to the Save As
Action Bar.
Navigate through your file structure to locate the drive and
directory where the file will reside.
Select the file type you want to save the image as from Save
File as Type list box.
Type the file name in the File Name box.
Select the OK pushbutton.

Saving pages from a file

You can save pages in a file by either using the Save Pages com-
mand in the File menu or by dragging and dropping them to the
Viewing documents
button on the
