BMP (Bitmap) files are standard Windows format for describing
a bitmap image file. They have the .BMP file extension. A
bitmap is an expanse of dots, called pixels or pels. Every pixel is
the same size, but can be of different colour or shade.
DCX Files
DCX files are multiple page .PCX bitmap image files.
HTML Files
HTML stands for Hypertext Mark-up Language files which can
be transmitted and viewed in most web browsers. If you are
unsure of the recipients mail package, you should select the
HTML format.
PCX Files
PCX is the file format initially developed by Z-Soft for the PC
Paintbrush family of products. It has since been adopted by
many other software developers. PCX files are compressed files
that can be black and white (bi-level), colour or gray scale. In
addition, they support a wide variety of resolutions and image
sizes. Only bi-level files can be imported or exported.
TIFF Files
TIFF stands for Tagged Information Field Format. It is a very
flexible file format, designed to provide for the interchange of
images between a wide variety of devices. TIFF files can be
black and white (bi-level), colour or gray scale. In addition, they
support a wide variety of resolutions and image sizes. They also
support a variety of different image compression schemes.
These schemes are designed to reduce the amount of memory
required to store a file. The type of TIFF file that is best depends
on the application you will be using.
