open HTML files. Finally, .BMP and .TIF files are quite common, and
even the most basic graphics application is capable of opening these file
types.
Your Fax/Image E-mail application functions in conjunction with your
Colour Multifunction Interface Address Book. You can designate a
default image file type for each e-mail address in your Address Book.
Then, when you address your e-mail message, any document you scan
will be automatically packaged in the default file type established in your
Address Book. See the Address Book chapter for further details with
regard to establishing default file types.
To include a scanned image as part of your e-mail message:
Follow the procedures outlined earlier in the Sending E-mail
Messages section of this chapter.
Insert the documents to be faxed face down into the feeder of the
Sharp Colour MFP.
Press the Scan And Send button on your Fax/Image E-mail screen
to begin the scanning process. When scanning is complete, the e-
mail message with the newly scanned image attached is automati-
cally sent. Each page of the scanned document will be packaged
in the default file type you have selected in your Address Book.

Sending existing files as a fax or e-mail attachment

You may send existing files as a fax or e-mail attachment from the Fax/
Image E-mail application. To attach an exisiting file:
Select the File button on the Fax/Image E-mail screen.
The Open dialog box appears. Navigate through your directory
structure to locate and select the file you wish to attach.
The selected file appears in the the File Name field of the Open
dialog box.
Select the Open button. The name of the file and corresponding icon
appears in the File field of Fax/Image E-mail screen.
Click the Send button to transmit the file as a fax or e-mail
attachment.
