Switchover
Switchover
NOTE:
This command requires the Fault Tolerant license key and two CPU blades.
To purchase a license key, contact your authorized maintenance provider or
authorized reseller. Use the
Transfers control of the switch from the Primary CPU blade to the Secondary CPU
blade. The former Primary CPU blade resets and becomes the new Secondary
CPU blade.

Notes
The Switchover command terminates all management sessions conducted over
the Primary CPU blade Ethernet and serial connections.
The Switchover command cannot execute under the following conditions:
Open Config Edit, Zoning Edit, or Security Edit session
Open Set Setup System, Services, Snmp, or Radius session
Port testing in progress
Configuration backup or restore in progress
Configuration activation in progress
Firmware image file is unpacking
Create Support command in progress
Configuration backup files, support files, and unpacked firmware image files are
deleted from the switch during a transfer of the primary role to the secondary CPU
blade.
Examples
The following example transfers control from CPU0 blade to CPU1 blade:
SANbox #> admin start
SANbox (admin) switchover
Switch control will change from Primary CPU0 to Secondary CPU1.
