2. The default IP address of the interface card is
"192.168.192.168". Check that the card is reachable by
"pinging" it from the command line:
ping 192.168.192.168
3. If the interface card is reachable, you should see results
something like the following (the exact form of the message
depends on your operating system, and the time may vary):
64 bytes from 192:168:192:168:icmp_seq=0.
Time=34.ms
4. If the card is unreachable, you may see something like:
PING 192:168:192:168:56 data bytes
until you press Ctrl-C, when you may see something like:
192:168:192:168 PING Statistics
3 packets transmitted, 0 packets received,
100% packet loss
Again, the exact wording of the message you see may differ
from this, depending on your operating system. If you cannot
"ping" the interface card, check the following:
The address is correct in the ping command.
The Ethernet connection to the card and to the host has
been made correctly, and all hubs, routers, etc. are
switched on. If you are using 10BASE-2, make sure that
both ends of the segment are terminated.
The interface card is operating normally (red light off,
green light on).
