Immediately after the power is turned on, "Pstn
(Position)" will be R (Right), "Range (Zone
Range)" will be 012(Keys), and "Orig.K (Original
Key Position)" will be Btm (Bottom), so that
indexes will be created as shown below.
If you set "Range (Zone Range)" to 1(Key), an
index will be created for each note of the keyboard
and a sample assigned to in index. You can then
continue sampling. It is convenient to use 1(Key)
when you wish to sample numerous takes in suc-
cession, such as when recording phrases or rhythm
loops.
4 Select "Index."
"Index" can also be selected by holding down the
[ENTER] key and playing a note on a connected
MIDI keyboard. For this example, select 001.
5 If you have been sampling previously and one or
more samples already exist, use "SMPL (Sample
Select)" to select the sample that you wish to
assign.
Repeat steps 4 and 5 to assign a sample to each
index. Complete the multisample in this way.
To hear the sampled sound, play a note on a con-
nected MIDI keyboard in the range of the index to
which the sample is assigned, or press the [AUDI-
TION] key.
6 Alternatively, you can create several indexes for
the multisample before you begin sampling, and
then sample for each index.
In step 4, select the index for which you wish to
sample, and use either manual sampling or auto
sampling to record a sample. ( "Manual sampling,"
"Auto sampling")
Create a multisample by selecting an index and then
sampling.
The number and order of the indexes in the multi-
sample, the zone of each index, and the original
key location can be edited later if desired ( p.74
"Multisample editing").

Loop settings

With the default settings after the power is turned on,
the sounds you sample will automatically be looped
(1.1: Recording, Input/Pref page "AutoLoop (Auto
Loop On)" On)
To edit the loop and other playback address settings for
the sample, use the 3.1: Loop Edit, Edit2 page.
1 Select the sample for which you wish to make loop
settings.
To select the sample, use the "SMPL (Sample
Select)" or "Index" parameters of 3.1: Loop Edit,
Edit 1 page or of the 1.1: Recording, Sample page.
( p.70)
If you use "SMPL (Sample Select)" to select the
sample, be aware that the assignment to the index
will also change.
2 In the 3.1: Loop Edit, Edit1 page, use the "Lp
(Loop)" check box to turn loop playback on/off for
the sample.
Looping will be turned on if the box is checked.
This will operate between the addresses you specify
in step 4.
Loop On: S E LpS E
Loop Off: S E
3 Select the 3.1: Loop Edit, Edit2 page.
The waveform data of the currently selected sample
will be displayed. You can play back the sample by
playing a note on a connected MIDI keyboard in the
range of keys to which the sample is assigned (the
keyboard area highlighted in "Keyboard & Index").
You can also play the sample by pressing the
[AUDITION] key.
In the case of a sample that was sampled with a
"Mode (Sample Mode)" setting of Stereo, the
waveform display will alternate between L and R
each time you press the [F3] ("L/R") key. At this
time, the upper right of the display will indicate
[L] or [R].
4 Specify the start address in "S (Start)," the loop
start address in "LpS (Loop Start)," and the end
address in "E (End)."
Select "S (Start)" (highlighted), and use the [VALUE]
dial or other VALUE controllers to modify the value.
The corresponding vertical line will move. Set "LpS
(Loop Start)" and "E (End)" in the same way. In the
example shown below, "S (Start)" is set immediately
(LpS E is repeated)
