After you build a RAID array, you can migrate it to a different NSS as required. Note
that you cannot migrate a RAID to or from the NSS4000. You can migrate a RAID
array to or from any of the other NSS models. If you are migrating a RAID array
from the NSS to another network NSS, ensure that you coldplug the RAID array
(versus hotplug it) into the new system as per the following:
Power down the NSS (from which you are removing the RAID array).
Remove each of the disk drives that make up the RAID array to be moved.
Power down the NSS to which you are migrating the RAID array.
Insert each of the disk drives in the RAID array into the new NSS.
When all the disk drives are installed, power up the NSS.
If any local users were assigned permissions to shares on the RAID array, you
must either save the configuration from the original RAID array device and then
upload it to the new NSS, or manually reconfigure the users and their share
permissions.
NOTE: You can install the drives into the new
NSS in any order (that is, you do not need to
install them in the same order or slots that they
were installed in the original NSS).
