(FC8- 1 6, FC8-32, and FC8-48 Director blades): Adjust the ejectors to the open position. Unscrew the
two thumb screws from the top and bottom ejectors on the blade using the Phillips screwdriver. See
Figure
28.
Unscrew the top thumb screw until it pops out. This initiates a hot-swap request.
(FC10-6 Director blade, FC4- 1 6IP, and FR4- 1 8i Director blades): Turn the Director blade off by sliding
the slider switch in the top ejector down, to the off position. This initiates a hot-swap request.
IMPORTANT:
At the time of this document's release, the FC4- 1 6IP is not supported in the DC
Director. The FC4- 1 6IP will be supported in a future version of Fabric OS.

Wait for the power LED to turn off in response to the hot-swap request before removing the Director
blade.

(FC8- 1 6, FC8-32, and FC8-48 Director blades): Open the ejectors. Pull the Director blade out of the
chassis using the ejectors.
(FC10-6 Director blade, FC4- 1 6IP, and FR4- 1 8i Director blades): Unscrew the two thumb screws from
the top and bottom ejectors on the Director blade using the Phillips screwdriver. Lever both ejectors
open simultaneously to approximately 45 degrees and pull the Director blade out of the chassis.
IMPORTANT:
At the time of this document's release, the FC4- 1 6IP is not supported in the DC
Director. The FC4- 1 6IP will be supported in a future version of Fabric OS.

If the Director blade is not being replaced by another blade, install a filler panel.
