Configuring Rate Limiting

Rate limiting per profile adds up to a maximum of 100%. It can be less than 100%. Tabs are
per radio. Rate limiting can be configured differently for each Basic Service Set ID (BSSID) in
a security profile group.
Rate limiting is done per BSSID and is configured as a percentage of available bandwidth.
Available bandwidth is determined by the amount of errors during transmission and the
amount of time a packet has to spend in the transmission queues.
The available bandwidth is distributed among the BSSIDs configured on the access points in
the specified percentage. The percentage configured for a BSSID is shared among all the
clients connected to it. The total of the percentages distributed among the BSSIDs can be up
to 100%. If a specific BSSID is to be left out of rate limiting, it could be configured to 0%,
which effectively disables rate limiting for that BSSID. A setting of 0% is good for BSSIDs that
are used for management, administration, or testing.
