Scanning Mixed Media Originals

A mixed media document has more than one type of image on the
same page. For example:
• Printed text and handwritten items
• Grayscale images and printed text
• Color images and printed text
• Handwriting and images
There is no easy way to deal with these documents since each
different "type" might have different associated best practices.
When a document has text and pictures try scanning the document
twice. Scan once using B/W as the Color Mode, then scan again using
Grayscale as the Color Mode. Test different options to see which gives
the best results in the least amount of time and with the least amount
of image processing.
Make your scan settings based on the needs of the document
recipients and how a document will be used. Document how you
handle various types of mixed media so you have a reference point
for future scans.
