8 KRANK SHAFT AND CONNECTING
RODS
Disassembly:
• Remove the engine unit from the motorbike, following
the instructions described in chapter 2 in this section;
• Remove the heads, as described in chapter 4 in this
section;
• Remove the cylinders and pistons following the
instructions described in chapter 5 in this section;
• Remove the clutch as described in chapter 6 in this
section;
• Remove the alternator and the flywheel following the
descriptions in chapter 7 in this section;
• Remove the timing system as described in chapter 4
in this section;
• Remove the oil sump as described in chapter 3 in this
section;
• Remove the oil filter support "A", unscrewing the
fastening screws "B" and detaching the small tubes
"C" for oil flow;
• Unscrew the coupling screws "D" and remove the
connecting rod "E" from inside the crankcase;
• Remove the crankshaft flange "F" (alternator side), by
unscrewing the fastening screws "G";
• Unscrew the fastening screws "H" for the rear
crankshaft flange "I";
• Apply tool "L" (code 12 91 36 00) as illustrated in the
figure, to remove the rear flange "I";
• Detach the crankshaft from the rear side;
