Installing or removing the ThinkServer 9240-8i RAID 5 Upgrade Key

This section provides instructions on how to install or remove the ThinkServer 9240-8i RAID 5 Upgrade
Key (hereafter called the 9240-8i RAID 5 key). If your server has a ThinkServer 9240-8i RAID 0/1 Adapter
installed and you want to enable the RAID 5 configuration function for this adapter, you need to install
the 9240-8i RAID 5 key on the adapter.
Installing the 9240-8i RAID 5 key

This section provides instructions on how to install the 9240-8i RAID 5 key.
To install the 9240-8i RAID 5 key, do the following:
Attention: Electrostatic discharge (ESD) can damage the 9240-8i RAID 5 key. Always ground yourself and
use a ground strap before touching the option. Perform the following procedure at an ESD-safe workstation.
1. Remove all media from the drives and turn off all attached devices and the server. Then, disconnect all
power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables that are connected to the server.
